The Prisoner Thief

Description

Another character design from a story with the temporary title, "The Prisoner Thief".
It started out as a way of escaping his cruel and abusive father. He would venture out at night, running across the rooftops and through the darkened alleys, the feeling of freedom brief yet so joyous. That is, until his father found out about his night time wanderings. Now he was being used to steal valuable objects during the night, unable to disobey his father, he was trapped once again. And this time, he had no way of escape.
The story went something like that. I can't remember the character's name unfortunately, and it's another story I never finished. Although it's one I plan on going back to.

Oh hey, it's great to see you're finally trying some new poses! I think the legs are too big when compared to the rest of the body, but it doesn't look too bad in general. I'm not too sure about the background here though. I am a failure when it comes to backgrounds, but while drawing I've always been told to think about the picture and its composition in general and not focus on the model/character only. Making a character first and then adding a background hardly ever works (probably only for professionals) - when sketching a character, sketch a background too! Doesn't have to be as detailed as the character, of course - after all it's the character that is the most important. But in the end it doesn't feel like the character was copy-pasted to the space behind it.
Ever considered trying landscape drawing?
