Hey, don't mention it. I really love your art style and I also thought the shading was amazing; Well placed and thought out, with a nice mix of hard and soft that actually compliments each other very nicely. I also really liked the original character design. She from a story or something?
I actually haven't had time to take a proper look at your gallery yet, as I'm only recently getting back on dA after spending several years away from it and it's a bit difficult getting back into the swing of things, not to mention the several hundred pictures to go through and ancient messages to delete. 
...Long story short, if I pop back over sometime in the future to fave a couple more, don't be surprised.

I understand this whole notifications mess. I had it many times and I still get sometimes lost when too many people write to me. Glad that you decided to come back
I read the first two chapters. There's not a whole lot I can say about it at the moment. To grab people's interest/curiosity I think you need more descriptions. An opening description describing the world, or country or continent or city or something. Or even an opening describing the character. An introduction if you will. Sure, you don't want a bunch of dialogue cluttering your comic, but that's way you need to balance it out.
Also, you might consider brief character introductions which could consist of a name and relationship status; eg. "Daniel; Abigale's best friend." or something like that. It could cut back on potential reader confusion.
