Wow, veeerrry nice coloring/shading! 
Made my lines look a lot better, that's for sure! You gave him a lot of good facial form--I especially like it around his eyes and nose.
I think I accidentally made his eyes too big
but it's not quite as noticeable with your colored version...

Also: congrats on the new background effect, didn't take you long to put it to good use.
